2nd Bulgarian training successfully implemented

The second module of the seminar for increasing the capacity of youth organizations in regard to European values has been implemented on 24, 25 and 26 September in Hisarya and gathered over 20 youth representatives. Very small changes and additions have been made in the number of the participants from the 1st module. The aims of the present seminar were:

  • To present practice about inclusion based on the principle of Human Rights into the activities of the youth organizations, working in different spheres;
  • To set the beginning of a network from youth organizations, working in different spheres, united by the idea of youth activities, based on Human Rights;
  • And of course to spread CHARM amongst the youth organizations in Bulgaria.

The second module also began with getting to know each other through interactive games and ice breaking activities.   The program consists from several sessions, where each includes theoretical part, practical – mainly role play games or simulation games and assessment at the end of the day. The themes were mostly Human Rights, what does it mean Mainstreaming and how to elaborate and implement anti-racist policies.

The representatives from the different youth organizations had the opportunity to learn each others activities during the open Bazar. From one side it helped the participants to gather into groups based on similar actions in order to elaborated ideas for policies that can be implemented within their organizations. Special session was given to getting to know more about the Roma, which helped the participant to understand a bit more about the issues faced by this group.

At the end of the seminar there was time for networking, where each participant shared what kind of needs he or she has in order to elaborate such anti-racist policies and what he or she can offer to the others as support.
